Like everybody these days, I can be found online at various different websites. Some are more active than others but they all show nuggets and snippets of my life and my work.

I mostly use (on a daily basis):

Instagram: @sionstagram

And on Tumblr: onlyifitshighwaisted

For my fledgling portfolio, Blogger, SIONANSTYLE

And a general idea of my personal style, Lookbook

And on LinkedIn !

Writing on the walls

I've been living in Dublin for a while now and am fairly well accustomed to the fair city's blend of alleys and avenues.  Dublin is actually becoming a really great place to pedal through. I'm starting to avoid the motorised common cold of Dublin Bus and cycle from a-b-a-c and beyond! Anyway, I've just noticed that my instagram is clogged with snaps of colourful street art and graffiti. I figured I'd brighten up this aul blog and post some here. I'm no expert but I'm always impressed by the colours, styles and hard GRAFT (!) that goes into prettying up our pathways.  Keep em coming,  Banksyses of Dublin!

'Plantlife' Editorial for

Did a little editorial with a couple of friends a while ago.. Amiee took the pics and Aoibhin was our model... It was all shot in my apartment which has a really modern and minimal aesthetic. Our aptly named household prop Robert Plant (the plant) slotted neatly into the background.

SS14 has been heavily influenced by ideas of photosynthesis, buttery pastels and strong, artistic prints. In choosing clothes for the editorial I was thinking along the lines of Christopher Kane, Preen, Chanel and Rochas for inspiration. And as for the accessories, what better to use than the graphic and 3D pieces from Morganna Murphy? I ended up buying the 'Colour' necklace myself, it stood out to me so much!

The full editorial is available to view here!

tumbl into my life!

^ click that or type this -->

there's probably a new cooler website than tumblr as I have left it pretty late to hop on board! But the fact you can change your backgrounds and layouts in a similar way to Bebo is enough for me!

Test Shoot

Recently in college we did a test shoot with the photographer Lorna Fitzsimons. We were paired up and our brief was to explore current trends for the season. My friend Sinead and I took inspiration from the futuristic/sci-fi theme that was big for AW12. It was our first shoot so we could choose any clothes that fit our brief and pull items from stores if we wanted. Sinead and I used mostly our own clothes and styled 2 looks. We had two great models and their makeup and hair was kept really simple and slick because we had a lot of strong colours and textures in the shoot. It was a great experience working with the photographer and models trying to achieve the right image and angles. In the end we were able to edit and publish one or two of the best images from each look styled. Here they are! If they look like images of another vortex (maybe!) then mission accomplished!

Look 1: Pink River Island skirt, Gold American Apparel jacket- they're mine!
Look 2: Blue American Apparel crop top (mine) and silver vintage leggings from Tahiti Vintage

feeling FESTIVE!

Ok so I donned my Christmas jumper yesterday on Christmas Eve, but I had this planned for my Christmas Day Outfit (CDO). The CDO is the stuff of magic, I try to make it my best outfit of the year... I just LOVE planning what I'm wearing in advance then wearing it. Simple pleasures eh!? The purpose of the CDO is twofold, firstly it must be worn for religious ceremonies and meeting people in the morning, then reinstated for the yuletide meal (twas delicious by the by!) A forgiving and well concealed waistband is usually preferred. I stuck to whipping up garlic butter when I was helping with dinner, fearing for the pristine whiteness of my skirt! It's quite the haute cuisine recipe- chop up a LOAD of garlic into chunks and lob it into some butter. Artisan.

Everything I'm wearing is vintage and I got the skirt and blouse in Om Diva in Dublin, which is basically retail and vintage heaven. I adore the place.
